To recognise a club record dating back to 1984, only our second-ever league season, Tim Logue (sponsored by Stuart Mercer ACA) was awarded a special prize for breaking the Most Wicket Keeping (& Fielding) Dismissals in a year with 38 victims.

Finally, a special thanks were given to Kylie Marks who after 10+ years as secretary will be stepping down from her role to focus on further developing our junior section. We are immensely grateful to her for all the work she has done since taking on the role.

While success on the pitch may have been limited this year, we played our cricket in the right spirit with both our 1st & 2nd XI winning the sporting marks for their respective divisions. The 2nd XI scored so well, they had the second-highest average mark across the entire league. Congratulations to Rob Hewer & Stuart Pearson a testament to the character of both your sides.

Off the pitch, our successes have been immeasurable. Our All Stars & Dynamos programs were at full capacity, and our junior section as a whole was larger than ever. The introduction of Snap Sponsorship has made an incredible difference to our funds and we intend to start utilising these to good effect in the pavilion over the winter, watch this space.

A date for all your diaries is 11th November when we hold our annual AGM, please do make every attempt to attend to have your say in your club, a number of positions are likely to be available and we will need your help to fill them. Further details announced nearer the time.

Before I go, cricket continues throughout the winter with our two indoor sides. The Riverside VI promoted at the end of last season will battle it out in the Premier Division led by John Chadwick. Meanwhile the Northern Gateway VI make the switch from Terrier to National League format. Both leagues are due to commence 2nd October.

That's (finally) all from me, have a great winter and catch you all next year - Pooky
