Indoor team v Willingale 02.12.18

4 Dec 2018

So, after playing the top team in the league last week, it was time to play the second best team in the league this week. Once again the bowlers did well, the 2 James (Hay & Pook) taking wickets & catches to restrict the opposition. John & Cheesey claimed a wicket each, but the final pair batted sensibly & managed to reach 78 at the end of 12 overs. All bowlers had economical figures. Although this was a better total than anticipated at the half way mark, Great Totham were very happy with the total, as 6.5 runs per over was an achieveable target.

So, the batting! Nick edged behind in the first over, Josh was looking good until he played the ball directly to a fielder, John & Pooky never got going & Cheesey got a delivery like he usually bowls! It was left to the Chairman-in-waiting to bring some respectability to the innings. Mini-Dicko played, missed, edged & defended with some style &, coupled with some kamikaze style running from Pooky, managed to raise the total to 45. After such an innings James might call an extra-ordinary AGM to usurp the Chairman, such was his performance.

Another good performance in the field followed by a not so good performance with the bat. Hopefully, next week v Broomhill will see an improvement in this.
