The indoor team looked to finish the league season with another win to maintain their 100% record. But, top run scorer Joshua injured his finger nail tying his rugby boot laces the day before, so 1st team skipper Rob stepped in at the last minute. Winning the toss Gt.Totham elected to bat first. Last game led to a change in the batting order & regular tail enders John & Cheesey led the team out, followed by Rob at 3. Before too long all 3 were out allowing Drew, Nick & Pooky the glory of scoring loads of runs. All 3 batted really well, Nick & Drew retiring, Pooky fell just short of retiring. There were shots of all variety on display as the score raced to 138.
Bowling was good by Pooky & Drew (showing the 1st team skipper of his all-round abilities) &, with Rob, restricted the opposition to about 50 off 6 overs. Cheesey & John bowled the last 6 overs &, although, Tigers did well, they were never going to reach the target. So, an eighth victory, finishing undefeated at the top of the leage tables. The statistics have Gt.Totham players at 5 & 7 in the batting, at 1 & 2 in the bowling, at 2 in the fielding catches & at 2 in the wicket-keeper dismissals. An excellent season, which will hopefully be even better if the team are successful on cup finals day in a fortnight.
