The selectors axe ruthlessly fell on Sam Moon, despite great batting & a match winning catch & Drew returned to the starting line up. John lost the toss & we were batting first again. Nick, Joe & Joshua were 1, 2 & 3 & all retired whe reaching 25. We were a lot of runs, for no wickets off not many overs. All 3 batted superbly well, 3s & boundaries were flying & running between the wickets was excellent. Drew & Jamie weren't in too long & John survived for a while to reach double figures. Nick, Joe & Joshua all returned with Joe hitting some more boundaries until he was run out for 45. The Broomhilll skipper bowled an excellent last over to restict us to 131, a score worthy of a victory.
Jamie & Joe opened the bowling &, after 5 overs Broomhill were struggling, as we had taken 3 catches, 2 for Joe & one for John, 2 wickets for Jamie.
Joshua's new boots were proving like ice skates on the indoor surface & Jamie had 2 very difficult chances hit straight back at him. But, we were on top. Without a recognised 4th bowler Drew & Joshua did well between them, leaving John & Joe to finish off. Nick took a catch off John & only the 6th bats(wo)man & the skipper were left. The Broomhill skipper played a brilliant innings, scoring 72 not out. The final over from John saw a couple of wides, a 6, a dropped catch & the winning runs coming off an overthrow.
The Indoor team were close to victory, but, not close enough.
