Final indoor game of the season, since we all decided playing outdoors on the 10th April will be a great idea! Bunner came back in for Pidge who's '1 game fill in' had lasted for 3 so best to get back out the way. Player/Coach Pook did the toss and we would be bowling, but after the most boring bloke in Ardleigh complained the week before that everyone has to bowl, Slice took the new ball with Bunner behind the stumps to begin. Slice confused the batsmen enough to keep the board quiet, Value bowling beautifully after.
Somehow Tim had done enough to earn a second over, and it was during this that JFH remembered Tim leaving him stranded with the bat years before, so when the batsmen inside edged into the floor, and the ball heading towards the stumps, decided not to let Tim have a wicket, stopped the ball and sent it back. Shortly after everyone reverted back to where they should be, Dedham never really got going, Pook nearly looked like a bowler again and we were left chasing 71.
Pook and Yeatsey (who had managed to grab the only bowlers wicket) started the run chase, after a tame first over, 6 3s on the bounce got the board moving, before the 3rd bowler let a loopy full toss go first ball, which Pooky dutifully dispatched to the back wall, then attempting the same off every ball afterwards, with 2 further success and Totham effectively home after the first pair, Pooky scoring 37 and Sam 24. Yeatesy delighted to finally face more than half the balls in a pair. Tim and Ed ticked over nicely, Slice letting the pair down with the only dismissal, before RK and JFH finished off. For the first 2 overs looking like people who had never played cricket, including an RK top edge to the keeper, the pair sorted it out, Bunner the latest victim of Ryan's strike hogging! All in all a 46 run win, 5 wins out of 6 and an enjoyable set of games!
