There are 10 Gameweeks left in the season, but all is still to play for! The Master Batters are top by just 8 points ahead of The Hazey Hitters, meanwhile, Hit 6 & Chill, Bullying on a Sunday, Wallapinos CC and Duck Collectors are all in hot pursuit. 7 teams have passed the 3000 point mark where will we end up by the season close? The race to avoid the wooden spoon is also on The Chairman's XI, The King, Lumpy XI and Grip it and Rip It CC all in danger of ending up in last place. Just 735 points (2 good Gameweeks or 1 incredible triple captain choice) separate 1st & 20th and I'm sure we'll see lots of changes to the leaderboard before the season ends.
Last week's top-point scorer was Dan Quartermaine with 95 points and sees him rise in price again to £6.1m. Kev Mays (£2.1m) and Olly Kendall (£5.6m) get their first price rises of 2021 following good performances in the 2nd & 3rd XIs. Last week was definitely a week for differential point scorers, as nobody with higher than 50% ownership scored more than Jacob Slater's (£3.6m) 42 points. Ben Ridge (£5.9m); Olly Kendall; Kev Mays and Stuart Pearson (£4.1m) topping the list of points scorers.
Gameweek 11 looks rainy, so my plan is to keep my transfers to a minimum and avoid taking costly hits. But I'll still give you some hints & tips on who to Buy, Sell and Captain this weekend.
BUY
With just the two league teams to pick from this weekend, working out who is a good differential pick to buy is proving tricky. Drew Whiting (£5.5m) makes his first appearance of the season following injury & will be keen to make an impact. Rob Mutton (£5.6m) looks in good form and seems to have found a position that suits him at Number 6. At just £5.1m, Tom Hawkridge looks a bargain price this weekend. He's Rob Hewer's talisman at 3, and the team always does well when he gets runs. On a weekend where points will likely be precious, you have to get in those most likely to score you runs.
Buy: Tom Hawkridge (£5.1m)
SELL
With the 3rd XI games called off, most people will be looking for a replacement for Jacob Slater (£3.6m) and Jess Pugh (£2.1m). Kev Mays makes an ideal swap for either of those two, but Kev is the only player you'll be able to make a straight swap for this weekend. You'll either need some spare cash lying about, or bring in a £0.5m enabler like Steve Whiting to be able to afford some of the more expensive players.
CAPTAIN
With points being difficult to come by this weekend, there's only one man I'm turning to as my captain. He's been consistent all year long & I don't expect that to change anytime soon. Ollie Cheeseman has scored below 25 points just once all season, and below 50 just 3 times. He is the leading point scorer across all players (416) and so I'll be backing him if any cricket is played. A £7.3m pricetag might be difficult to swallow for some players, but with no Harry Cooper this weekend, removing him should free up sufficient budget.
Captain: Ollie Cheeseman
Good luck to all those playing this weekend, get your sundance shoes on this evening, or if not, remember to bring your umbrellas & wellies!
